How Rags to Riches Came to Life

Rags to Riches was created by family and friends who wanted to bring something truly missing to Bay St. Louis — a real sports bar by the beach. Husband and wife Shane and Amy Bernard, along with business partner and friend Craig Bordelon, came together with a vision: a place where you can step right off the sand, grab a cold drink, let the kids play outside, and still catch every game on TV.

The Bay already had its share of upscale seafood spots and event venues, but not a place where locals and visitors could relax in a laid-back, family-friendly sports bar with a Cajun-inspired menu. From drool-worthy dishes like crispy waffle fries to fresh local seafood, plus outdoor tables and games, Rags to Riches quickly became the go-to spot for both good food and good times.

Downstairs is where the energy comes alive with live music on stage, plenty of TVs for sports fans, and the kind of atmosphere that keeps people coming back weekend after weekend. Upstairs, you’ll find a more relaxed lounge space with balconies overlooking the water, perfect for unwinding with a cocktail and enjoying the view.
